Zoom, Focus, Lytro

The 8GB version is available in the colors Electric Blue and Graphite, and the 16 GB version is available in the color Red Hot.

Making its debut on Oct. 19, the Lytro Camera could change photography technology as we know it. This is the first ever camera which provides the ability to focus a photograph after it is taken. This is possible because the camera captures all the rays of light in the scene.

The Lytro is the only camera in existence which captures life in living existence. This is accomplished because it captures eleven million rays of light in one scene, along with the direction of each ray. Furthermore, the lack of the need to autofocus increases the camera’s shutter speed.

“The Lytro camera is really cool. I think the focusing advancements will bring a whole new era to photography as we know it. Devin Toner better watch out!” says senior Carrick Reddin.

It is available in an 8 GB version and a 16 GB version which cost $400 and $500. The camera is only 1.61 x 1.61 x 4.41 inches in size and only contains two buttons, a power button and a shutter button, though it has a focus and a zoom touch screen option.
