Upon Tesoro's victory over Orance Lutheran, Mr. Ramirez, Athletic Director at Tesoro, received a letter from the CIF-SS office inviting five of the Tesoro Varsity Athletes to a celebratory luncheon and press conference preparing the men from all over Southern California for their games coming up on the preceding Saturday.

On November 30th, 2008, Tesoro's varisty football coach Brian Barnes was informed of his selection as ABC7/ NFL’s High School Coach of the Year. Barnes was honored in the Sports Zone Show on December 6th, the same day as Tesoro’s game against Orange Lutheran High School.
