Seniors spend Thanksgiving with college apps

Thanksgiving Break is traditionally a time for relaxing and hanging out with family, a break from school work and sleeping in.
This was not the case for some Tesoro seniors. Ariana Caronna and Sarah Ayad spent their entire break writing personal statements and sending in their college applications.
“It just feels so great knowing that I got this stressful application process over with,” Ariana Caronna said.
However, some lucky kids got to go on vacation. Katie Cameron spent her entire break on the beautiful island of Oahu. Whether she was laying out on the beach or shopping at the local markets, she had an envious Thanksgiving break. Others visited Disneyland a ridiculous amount of times. Thanks to her nifty yearlong pass, Weston Kilbride was able to go to Disneyland 4 times over the break.
When asked if she ever got sick of it, she replied, “Disneyland is the happiest place on earth, how could I ever get sick of it?”
Of course, the most important day of the break was Thursday, Thanksgiving. For some, this day is a great time to catch up with the family and eat delicious food. For others it is a time to dodge the awkward conversations with their grandparents, or run away from their crazy cousins who are shooting nerf guns at them. Obviously, it is more enjoyable for some than others. Sisters Sarah and Jillian Konopasky love spending Thanksgiving with their family and look forward to the holiday every year.
“The best part about this holiday is that I get to spend it with my family, oh yeah and the food is always so good,” claims Sarah Konopasky. Whether people were sending in college applications or visiting Hawaii, they all agreed on one thing: at least we had a week off of school.
