Titan football moves into CIF

November 21, 2008 – 6:00 am

Last Friday, the Titans ended their season perfectly by beating Dana Hills 56-26. Tesoro remains the number one team in the county with a record of 10-0 overall and 5-0 in the South Coast League. This is the first year that Tesoro has had a perfect season, and the second year that Tesoro is the South Coast League champion.

After a  victory over Dana Hills, the Titans received the top seed in the playoffs and would not have to split the league title. As a result, the Titans should receive a good position on the playoff draw.

Tonight, Tesoro will face Los Alamitos in the first round of the playoffs. This will be the most significant game of the season, not only because it is a playoff game, but also because we will be facing a team coached by John Barnes – the father of our coach, Brian Barnes.

Both teams know each other’s game very well, so it is likely that the result will be very close and the game will be hard fought.

Tesoro has proven itself to be a strong contender and a feared opponent. The result of this season has been wonderful, and the Titans have had an excellent ride. No matter who wins tonight, our Titans accomplished what they set out to do – finish the regular season undefeated.
