Las Vegas themed Homecoming draws crowds

November 12, 2008 – 9:18 am

After a week of spirit days, a pep rally and a football game, Tesoro’s 2008 Homecoming culminated in a dance on Saturday night.

Crowds began to line up around 7:30 to get in the gym as soon as possible in hopes of fitting in as much fun as possible. Waiting for a half-hour, they trekked through the doors, had their ids scanned, purses checked, and breath breathalized. They were in at last, the dance floor wide open, the music pumping in the background. Looking around, across the room girls were dressed in animal prints while the guys wore their dress pants and button up shirts.
Though the Homecoming Queen was revealed at the football game the day before, the Homecoming prince was yet to be announced. The nominees were Tom Reagan, Harry Kavanaugh, Kent Kirlikovali, Mike Danto and Vincent Nava. About midway through the dance, the music stopped and the DJ called all of the nominees up.  After some delay upon waiting for Kirlikovali, the King was then announced. It turned out to be none other than Kent Kirlikovali. After, the crowd was free to finish the night showing their moves techno remixes or hip-hop beats. From “Disturbia” to “Lets Make-out” to the classic “YMCA”, music from all walks of life were played. Sadly, when the clock struck 11, the DJ had to close the night off with T.I’s song “Whatever You Like”.

Now that Homecoming is finished, ASB is busy planning for Winter Formal at the South Mesa Club in Camp Pendleton .
