AP Euro: Post-Final Fun

Infront of the school, sophomores Jeff Wynkoop and Jenni Warren waltz together to the tune of the Beethoven classics.
After finishing a difficult final, many people just feel like dancing the stress away. Ms. Thompson’s sophomores did just that on the Tuesday and Wednesday following finals. A new chapter in AP Euro means a whole lot of outlines. “Outlines really take a while to do, but they are really effective because they really help me memorize the information. Jumping from no outlines last year, to outlining this year was tough on me at first, but I learned to get used to it,” said Kate Custer.
This time instead of outlines, Euro students were greeted with a new chapter and an unusual activity when they walked into room 409. “When I heard we were waltzing that day, I definitely got really excited and really wanted to rock out to that Beethoven,” said Brandon Mayo.
Studying the topic of Romanticism, the students focused on how the romantic movement went against the scientific nature of the Industrial Revolution and how every person should pay attention to the ways of nature. The students focused on reading and reciting poetry as well as their coordinated dance moves after going the whole 20 yards from Ms. Thompson’s room to the great outdoors. “I kept messing up with my feet! I was always stepping on my partner’s toes or forgetting where to put my foot next! It wasn’t embarrassing though, it was actually really funny because everyone was doing it,” said Stephani Hendrix.
With Winter Formal approaching fast, some sophomores took what they learned to heart, and were waltzing ‘till they dropedp at the much-anticipated dance. According to Olivia Benice, “At formal, I definitely saw people waltzing when they played that slow song, and some of them were sophomores in AP Euro.”
